Faith and Hope for Single Moms
Being a single mom takes strength—but you were never meant to do it alone.
This prayer journey is a sacred space to breathe, to heal, and to hear God’s voice again. Whether you’re weary, hopeful, or somewhere in between, these daily prayers and Scriptures will remind you: You are seen. You are loved. And God is with you—every step, every struggle, every beautiful breakthrough.
Come as you are.
Leave with renewed faith and unshakable hope.
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee…”
Isaiah 43:2
Devotional
Being a single mom often feels like standing in the middle of a storm with no umbrella and no one to lean on. The demands never stop—meals, bills, bedtime routines, emotional needs—and it’s all on your shoulders. It’s easy to feel like you're drowning in responsibilities, fears, and silent questions like “Will I ever be okay?”
But here’s the promise: You are not alone.
God doesn’t wait for the storm to pass to join you—He steps into the waves with you. He holds your hand through sleepless nights, wipes your tears, and whispers strength into your soul when you have none left to give.
Prayer
Lord, some days feel like a storm I can’t outrun. The weight of parenting alone, making decisions, and staying strong is more than I can carry. But today, I choose to believe that I am not alone. You are with me in the chaos, in the noise, in the weariness.
When I feel unseen, remind me You see every sacrifice.
When I feel unheard, remind me You hear every whispered prayer.
When I feel weak, remind me Your strength is made perfect in my weakness.
Give me faith, not just for the future, but for today—for this moment, this hour, this breath.
I trust You in the storm. I know You will not let me go.
Amen.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…”
Isaiah 40:31
Devotional
Waiting is one of the hardest things we’re called to do—especially when you’re already tired. Waiting for a financial breakthrough, for your child’s healing, for emotional relief, or even for someone to simply notice your silent cries—it can feel endless.
As a single mom, your life often moves at full speed while your heart waits in stillness. And yet, Scripture says that kind of waiting isn’t wasted. In God’s hands, waiting becomes a place of transformation. A place where strength is renewed, character is built, and hope is restored.
You're not waiting because God has forgotten you. You're waiting because He is preparing something worth waiting for.
Prayer
God, I admit—it’s hard to wait. Especially when I’m worn out and it feels like answers aren’t coming fast enough. I’ve waited for change. I’ve waited for peace. I’ve waited to be chosen, to be held, to be seen.
But today, I choose hope.
I choose to believe that You are working—even when I can’t see it.
I choose to believe that Your delays are not denials.
I choose to believe that this waiting season has purpose.
Renew my strength in the waiting.
Calm my anxious thoughts.
Fill my heart with holy anticipation, not bitterness or doubt.
Let me rise each day expecting Your goodness—because You are faithful.
I don’t want to just survive this waiting—I want to grow through it.
I trust You with the timeline of my life.
Amen.
“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”
John 14:18 (KJV)
Devotional
There are moments when being a single mother feels like standing in a world designed for two—but walking it alone. You carry the schedules, the school meetings, the scraped knees, the big emotions… and often, your own heartache too.
It’s easy to feel like everything rises and falls on your strength. But friend, you are not parenting alone.
God didn’t just drop you into this role and step back—He walks every step with you. He’s not only present; He is actively partnering with you.
He’s filling in the gaps you can’t see. He’s guiding your hand, whispering wisdom, catching your tears, and covering your children with a love even deeper than your own.
He’s not the silent observer in your story—He’s the Divine Co-Parent, your strength when you're exhausted and your calm when things fall apart.
Prayer
Lord, I admit I’ve been trying to carry this all on my own. Some days I feel like I have to be everything—nurturer and protector, provider and peacemaker. But today, I remember I have a faithful Partner in You.
You are not far off.
You are not indifferent.
You are near—and You care deeply.
Help me lean into Your strength instead of my own.
Speak wisdom when I’m unsure what to say.
Hold my heart when I feel invisible.
Be present in our home—in every bedtime routine, every car ride, every mealtime prayer.
Fill in the gaps I cannot.
Love my children through me.
Let Your peace surround our lives and give me confidence that I am never, ever alone.
Thank You for being not just my God—but my Partner.
Amen.
